Velvet-voiced singer/songwriter ALI MILNER’s forthcoming album I Dare You is being released October 1st 2009. The up-and-coming pop/jazz artist writes with an old school soul with a modern twist. Her compositions are featured under the sizzling cover art, including the single “Crystal Clear.”

The 13-track album of original songs is a powerful coming out for the 19-year-old who makes a statement from every stage she takes with her sonorous vocals. Inspired by life and her love of music, the young songstress infuses her music with passion and honesty, delivering a compilation of essential listens recorded at Armoury Studios in Vancouver.

To celebrate the album launch, Milner will headline the second performance of The Live Sessions at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts. The intimate concert series features three Thursday evening performances with British Columbia’s hottest musical talent. The Whistler native will take the stage at 5 p.m. in the Telus Studio Theatre. CBC will tape the performances to broadcast on Radio 2’s Canada Live at a later date.

Musically inclined at an early age, Milner began building her music foundation as one of the lead voices in the internationally acclaimed Vancouver Children’s Choir. She’s since established her place amongst professional musicians with performances at the Canadian Music Café during the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival, the Sunshine Coast Musicfest, the Rockanagan Musicfest in Kelowna, B.C., the Temecula Valley Film Festival and Musicfest near Los Angeles, the Westjet Street party during the Junos, and most recently at the Western Canadian Music Awards weekend event. She also jammed with Michael Bublé, Divine Brown and Ron Sexsmith at the Warner Music Junos afterparty in Vancouver.
